Salutations Thanks for visiting my humble little page. I guess this is the place where I should fill in the gaps and let one know some more about me. Well, lets see. I'm 30-something guy who grew up near the Jersey shore and am now living in North Brunswick NJ. I went to Rutgers University and studied art history, a great subject but one that unfortunately really does not lead to much so for a while I supported myself as a hairdresser. I still do it on a very part time basis while I pursue a career in web publishing

"The passing of time and all its sickening crimes is making me sad again. But don't forget the songs that made you cry and the songs that saved your life. Yes, you are older now and a clever swine but they are the only ones that ever stood by you".
from "Rubber Ring" by The Smiths

I have a pretty scattered amount of interests. I guess I'm what they call a ferocious reader. Mostly I read biographies and history although I do read some fiction too, my favorite authors being E.L. Doctorow, Dorothy Parker, Maya Angelou and Don Dellio, just to name a few. I also really like music, although I'll be the first to admit I'm still more partial to the bands I listened to in my younger years like the Smiths, Joy Division, the Clash, the Buzzcocks, Blondie and Eurythmics. More current bands I like are Blur, Cracker,  Radiohead and Bad Religion*.
"There is hope in honest error, none in the icy perfection's of the mere stylist".
                                                                        Charles Rennie Mackintosh
While in college my concentration was unofficially architecture, a subject I find positively fascinating. My taste seems to go through cycles and I'm currently on this somewhat modernist fixation, with people like LeCorbusier, Garnier and Mies van der Rohe being my favorites. Despite all that, I still can be very much in awed by the "classics" and have a particular fondness for Sullivan,Wren and Mackintosh
"Who dies in their own vomit these days? No one. Mind you, I wish some of them would, though... I'm sorry about that, darling, but you can't play rock and roll on a diet of Quorn, Vegejuice and Linda-bloody-McCartney's Tofu Treats".
Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) from Absolutely Fabulous; "Birth"
Now, I realize that everything up to this point may make me seem like some pompous ass. But when I'm not jetting off to the Mediterranean or arguing how 15 century Venetian architecture was based on Islamic aesthetics I do enjoy some rather ordinary pleasures. I like baseball and follow the Yankees. I watch some television and my favorite shows are The Simpsons, Daria, News Radio and for some reason I cant really explain, Showtime at the Apollo.  A choice re-run of  Absolutely Fabulous, I Love Lucy or Roseanne  can still leave me in stitches. My favorite movies run the gamut from  Heathers to Pee Wee's Big Adventure   to Amadeus to Trainspotting. Like most red-blooded Americans I have my vices, I see no point in leaving a club or bar or party any more alert than when I arrived. Well-there is really nothing else I can think of to tell you. If there's anything else you want to know or have any comments, drop me a line, I'd love to hear form you. Till then-be cool and remember: Mind the Gap!
